location, location, location.


Once the site had been cleared we had identify exactly where the studio would go.  

In order to prepare to dig all the posts, we needed to locate and mark the  spots where the four corners would be, taking special care to get each corner exactly square.  


Greg is using the sophisticated method of marking each spot with spray paint found in my garage.



I think professionals use teams like this one for this part of the job.

We just used string and some stakes bought at Home Depot.

There will be a hole here soon.  Remember, the stake marks the point of the outer edge of the corner.  So the post hole will actually be set inside the stake shown here (see first picture in this series, as it shows you the markings for the exact hole to be dug.)

This might make total sense to you but it took me a little while for this to connect.
